INTERNATIONAL PLANNING COMPETITION FOR A PRIVATE PROJECT PARK OF CITYLIFE

1. Overview

On 19 May 2010 the Municipality of Milan published a notice (visible on www.comune.milano.it) to look for 5 designers who will be invited by CityLife S.r.l. to participate to the international planning competition for a private project “PARK IN NEW CITY FAIRGROUND REDEVELOPMENT AREA (so called CITYLIFE) (hereinafter “COMPETITION”).

2. The City Life Competition

CityLife S.r.l. will invite a total of 8 candidates to participate to the COMPETITION, 5 of whom selected by the Municipality of Milan and the remaining selected directly by CityLife S.r.l..

The designers will be invited to produce a draft project according to the procedures dictated by the Letter of Invitation.

The winning designer of the COMPETITION will be identified after evaluating this project, who will then complete the Draft Project and subsequently the Final Park Project (covering 168,000 sq. m at an estimated cost of about 16.3 million Euro), for the purpose of submitting application to the Municipality of Milan for authorization to build said secondary town planning work.

The fee to be paid to the winner of the COMPETITION, assigned with the final project, will amount to 350,000 Euro plus VAT and contributions as per the law.

Project design (PDD) presentation workshop

16 July 2010

Queries put by candidates

By and not beyond 30 July 2010

Consignment of competition documents

By and not beyond 15 October 2010

Announcement of winner

by 30 October 2010

Subsequent to the COMPETITION the winner shall develop the Final Park Project by 31/12/2010.
