CityLife and SmartCityLife Title Sponsors of the CityLife Smart Cup and the CityLife Fast Cup

Milan, September 27, 2022 – Once again this year, CityLife is proud to host and support Salomon Running Milano, the urban trail race organized by A&C Consulting in collaboration with Friesian Team. During today’s official press conference, the event’s routes and distances were unveiled: on Sunday, October 2, runners of all levels will gather in the heart of CityLife to compete and enjoy a day of outdoor fun in the district of the Tre Torri.

Alongside CityLife—main promoter and sponsor of the event—SmartCityLife will join this year as a co-title sponsor. SmartCityLife is a company established to manage and promote quality of life and environmental sustainability in the CityLife district, and is owned by CityLife S.p.A., Generali Real Estate, and Allianz. CityLife and SmartCityLife are proud Title Sponsors of the CityLife Smart Cup (10 km) and the CityLife Fast Cup (15 km), both non-competitive runs.

“CityLife is always delighted to host Salomon Running Milano, a fantastic event that brings together running and sports enthusiasts, while promoting social interaction, well-being, and sustainability. We are happy to share these values with the athletes and help raise awareness among Milan’s citizens about healthy lifestyles and new ways of experiencing the city,”
said Giorgio Lazzaro, CityLife’s Commercial and Marketing Director.

The standout new feature of this twelfth edition is the finish line: for the first time, all races will conclude at the Velodromo Vigorelli, the legendary sports venue restored by CityLife S.p.A. through urban development contributions. With its historic wooden cycling track and multipurpose field—now used for American football and rugby—the Vigorelli will serve as both the symbolic and physical heart of the event. The Race Village will also be set up just outside the venue.

The 10 km and 15 km Routes

Runners will tackle a mixed and uneven urban terrain filled with both natural and man-made obstacles—elements that have always been the true spirit and highlight of this event. All distances will start from Viale Duilio, adjacent to the CityLife district.

For the CityLife Smart Cup (10 km)—starting at 9:30 AM—participants will pass through Parco CityLife, the Fontana delle Quattro Stagioni, Tre Torri Park, and into the MiCo Convention Center, then toward Portello and Piazza Gino Valle (Milan’s largest square), running beneath Casa Milan. The route continues across the Ponte Iper and up the playful spiral ramp at Parco Industria Alfa Romeo-Portello. After the “pinwheel,” runners will head back toward MiCo and ultimately enter the Velodromo Vigorelli, where the race concludes with a lap on the historic track.

The CityLife Fast Cup (15 km) follows the same route as the 10 km, with an additional detour through the rugged terrain and bumps of Parco Monte Stella (known as the “Montagnetta di San Siro”), though the summit of Monte Stella is reserved exclusively for the Top Cup 21 km race. Runners will also enjoy a lap on the track at Campo XXV Aprile for a sprint before heading back to finish inside the Vigorelli.
