Panoramica

BabyLife Nursery

In 2014, CityLife launched a design competition in partnership with Federabitazione Lombardia, Confcooperative, and AAA architetticercasi™ to create a nursery within the park. The winning project by 02Arch imagined a home as drawn by a child: a continuous line sketching its outline. Today, that vision is a reality—BabyLife is a warm, welcoming space made up of small house-like units surrounded by a 3,000 sqm garden. Every space, both indoor and outdoor, is designed with children’s well-being in mind, replicating the feel of the CityLife park in a child-sized version.

The Rinnovata Pizzigoni School and the new Local Police Headquarters are the ongoing projects funded through urban development charges

As part of its commitment to extending the benefits of the redevelopment beyond the boundaries of the district itself, the Municipality of Milan asked CityLife S.p.A. to undertake a series of restoration, conservation, and new construction projects. For the restoration work, the “Rinnovata Pizzigoni” School Complex on Via Castellino da Castello was selected. In terms of new construction, a new headquarters for the Local Police is being developed on Via Gattamelata. A significant portion of the urban development charges generated by the CityLife project is being allocated to fund these initiatives.

Scuola Rinnovata Pizzigoni

The restoration project of the Scuola Rinnovata Pizzigoni in Milan aims to preserve and enhance the existing buildings through sustainability and efficiency-driven solutions. Covering an area of 22,480 sqm, the school complex includes five main buildings: primary school, kindergarten, swimming pool, Agraria Pavilion, and Casa del Fattore. The interventions focus on structural, energy, and systems upgrades, fire safety compliance, and the restoration of historical features. Special attention will be given to preserving original decorations while modernizing educational and administrative spaces. As implementing partner, CityLife oversees the execution of the project within the framework of the Integrated Intervention Program. The project is divided into phases to ensure the continuity of school activities and includes solutions to improve accessibility and eliminate architectural barriers.

Comando Polizia Locale

The new Local Police Station project in Milan includes the construction of two office buildings: a four-story building along Via Colleoni and a second structure composed of two interconnected sections—one facing Via Gattamelata with 2/3 floors and the other with 2 floors located within the inner courtyard. The basement level will house technical rooms, locker rooms, and parking areas. A public square is also planned at the corner of Via Gattamelata and Via Faravelli, creating a new community space that connects the station with the surrounding neighborhood. Designed with a focus on sustainability, safety, and acoustic comfort, the new facility integrates energy-efficient solutions and architectural harmony. CityLife, as the contracting authority, oversees the project as part of the Integrated Intervention Program for the redevelopment of the former Fiera Milano area.
